Life & Work with Jasmyn Scott of St Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmyn Scott.

Hi Jasmyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Jasmyn Scott, founder of SassCe & JassZe Hair Boutique. After experiencing hair loss in my early twenties, I started making my own wigs to regain my confidence. That experience inspired me to create a luxury hair brand that helps women feel beautiful, confident, and empowered. My mission is simple: Dare to Be Different. Dare to Be YOU.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building SassCe & JassZe hasn’t been easy. It’s been a journey full of lessons, setbacks, and growth. One of the biggest things I had to learn was that building a luxury brand is about so much more than selling hair—it’s about creating a story and an experience that people can connect with.

There were times I questioned my vision, changed directions, and even started over because I wanted every detail to match the standard I had in my head. I also had to learn the business side—finding quality vendors, pricing my products, and figuring out what made my brand different.

Things didn’t always go the way I planned, but every challenge taught me something. Looking back, I’m thankful for those moments because they made me stronger as both a business owner and a person. I don’t see them as failures anymore. I see them as part of the foundation that is helping me build the brand I’ve always dreamed of.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
For 14 years, I worked at Hollywood Casino and Penn Interactive, where I discovered my strengths in helping people, solving problems, and providing excellent service. After years of praying for direction, I took a chance on a Reservations Agent role, which revealed my calling for communication, empathy, and being a voice of reason.

Those experiences built the skills I now use as the founder of SassCe & JassZe Hair Boutique. I focus on creating meaningful customer experiences and helping women feel confident and valued. My journey taught me that my purpose is rooted in service, and that is what sets me apart.

How do you think about luck?
Many people would call it luck, but I see it differently. I believe God has always been the foundation of my life. Every challenge and every opportunity has been part of His plan for me.

There were seasons when I didn’t believe in myself. I spent years standing in the background, helping other people build their dreams while never imagining that I could build one of my own. I didn’t see “little old Jasmyn” as someone who would own a business or inspire other women. But God saw something in me that I couldn’t yet see in myself.

Even what seemed like bad luck—losing my hair at a young age—became the beginning of my purpose. That experience led me to create SassCe & JassZe so other women could feel beautiful and confident. Looking back, I don’t believe it was luck at all. I believe God was preparing me for the life and business He always intended for me.
