Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauryn Pyatt
Hi Lauryn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my photography journey during the summer of 2024. I worked as a photographer at a Christian summer camp in Branson, Missouri for about a month. During that time, I learned the basics of how to use a camera. I have always had a creative eye, but my photography skills quickly developed the more experience I got. Since then, I had been doing photoshoots for fun. Now, I am trying to make a name for myself and potentially incorporate it into my career. I adore taking pictures of people and building them up. Turning moments into memories has been very special.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Whenever I was employed as a photographer over the summer, it was my first time really getting experience with a camera. I was doubting myself and my abilities. The self-comparison game crept in, and it stole my joy. It was really tough being away from home and not being able to talk to my family or friends since I didn’t have access to my phone. Although it was challening, it really built my character. It taught me so much, and I learned how to depend on God. As time went on, I started taking better photos. It was a learning experience! I never gave up even though I wanted to so badly. By the end of my time there, I was extremely proud of my work and what I had accomplished. I developed such a strong passion for photography. It wasn’t easy, but it sure was worth it.

My name is Lauryn Pyatt. I am a photographer and a blogger. I love to meet and connect with people. Taking pictures of people is so fulfilling to me because of how those memories can be captured forever. I also adore writing. I blog about the Christian faith and lifestyle content. One of my goals in life is to encourage others through words of affirmation. Blogging has been a way for me to share my insights with the world and spread love. Sharing my story with mental health has also been a beautiful way to testify that life gets better. I am most proud of my resilience and my loving heart.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
The biggest risk I ever took was transferring to another university because I felt led to. Typically, I am not a huge risk-taker. I will take a risk if I feel called to it, though. I think it is smart to think about all perspectives before making an impulsive decision. Risks can be tricky, but they can also turn out to be more beautiful than you could ever imagine. As long as you’re taking all things into consideration, that’s a good first step.
