Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexy Lou.
Hi Lexy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always involved in choir and band, so music has always been deeply rooted in me.
I didn’t start taking music seriously until 2018, 2 years after I came back home from college feeling a little confused about the direction I wanted to go in. During that time, one of my old classmates reached out and asked me to come lay a hook for a song he was working on. When we met up, I was introduced to producer Gifted Ignorance and from that moment, everything changed.
That experience sparked something in me, and the rest is history. I’ve been creating and pursuing music ever since, continuing to grow into the artist I’m meant to be.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all! The road has been anything but smooth. I’ve had to learn how to do everything myself, from uploading my music to DSPs to figuring out how to create content that social media platforms will actually push to new audiences. On top of that, funding everything has been a major challenge. I literally work a 9-to-5 every day to support my music career, and balancing that with building my brand has not been easy at all.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer who blends hip hop, R&B, and pop to create a sound that’s both versatile and authentic. I focus on storytelling through my music, balancing confidence, vulnerability, and real-life experiences in a way that people can genuinely connect with. Whether I’m on stage or in the studio, my goal is always to make people feel something.
I originally started creating under the name Alexus A, which represents where I began and the foundation I built as an artist. As I grew not just musically, but personally, I rebranded to Lexy Lou. That shift wasn’t just about a name change; it was about stepping fully into who I am as an artist and embracing my identity with more confidence, clarity, and intention.
I’m known for my stage presence, my ability to connect with a crowd, and my unique blend of “sweet and savage” energy. I can give you soft, melodic R&B vibes, but I can also switch it up and deliver bold, confident records that demand attention. That duality is a big part of my brand and what makes my sound stand out.
What I’m most proud of is my consistency and independence. I’ve built my career from the ground up funding my own projects, learning the business side of music, and continuing to push forward while working a full-time job. I’ve had the opportunity to perform at major venues, sell out shows, and share stages with other talented artists, all while staying true to myself.
What sets me apart is not just my sound, but my story and my resilience. I’m not afraid to evolve, take risks, and be real in my music. I’m building something that’s authentic, long-lasting, and impactful and I’m just getting started.

I’d love for readers to stay connected with me because I’m currently working on a new project that really captures the full range of who I am as an artist. It highlights both sides of my personality…the softer, more vulnerable moments as well as the confident, bold energy I bring to my music.
This project is very intentional and personal to me. It’s about growth, self-expression, and embracing every layer of who I am without holding back. I’m excited for people to hear the evolution in my sound and see how I continue to push myself creatively.
