Today we’d like to introduce you to REVÉ.
Hi REVÉ, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I don’t think my origin story is different from many. I grew on up the greatest combination — singing in church and Disney princess movies. I went to school for music, and then from graduation walked into performing in regional theatre for next few years. The idea was to always be a singer, but it seemed like I couldn’t find the path for it like I could with theatre. I thought somehow I would be discovered by some A&R exec and then I would journey to a record deal…None of that happened! All of my professors were of the classical space, whichI hadn’t considered apart of my future. Now, we are in the age of the independent artist, where access to software, equipment and information is more mainstream and the path is a bit more of what you carve out for yourself.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely not be smooth! I’ve spent many years just trying to get the courage to complete something musically. I feel like I’ve started and stopped multiple times because I wasn’t sure what was next or how to even get to the next point or I lacked connections that I thought were necessary to grow My spouse passed in the middle of what felt like a strong start. That grief paired with COVID became a massive push to end my start and stop cycle. It was like grief became the battery in my pack and COVID slowed me down to create. I really think that season became my switch from “what if I fail?” to “what if I fly?” I stopped being afraid of failing and not being perfect.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am singer/songwriter and opera librettist who also plays in the space of theatre, acting and music making. I love that my artistic worlds overlap. I spent many years storytelling through regional theatre, and my work still consists of storytelling, but mostly now in the lane of music making. I really do love it! Whether it’s a song for myself or for an opera or writing music for a play, I love that this is where life has taken me creatively. It really is proof that God wastes nothing. In my years in theatre, my musical creation would start and stop based on the time I had available, which, for anyone who has never done theatre, the rehearsal process is quite time consuming. But to my surprise, when I made the jump to be more of a musician, my theatre connections reminded me that music is made for those spaces as well. I had found a whole new playground to play in!
What sets me apart of from others? I’m just me and my “me” is different from others. I don’t feel the need to push to stand out. I just have to show up wherever I go as authentically me. I think trying too hard to be so different would in turn make me unrelatable and cause the things I create to lack connection and realness.

That’s a tough one! Umm…the bridge in the my new single, “HOME” is based on a Tim Keller quote about being loved!
