Life & Work with Tamaki Harvey Stratman of Saint Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamaki Harvey Stratman.

Hi Tamaki, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I enjoyed smelling my mother’s perfume and playing with her jewelry as a young girl. In grade school, my parents bought me my very first sewing machine, and I spent hours learning how to make my own clothes. The seam ripper and iron became essential tools for creating a garment I made with my hands. In college, I took classes in textiles, costume history, sewing, fashion, and art, to name a few. These classes gave me a passion and a solid foundation for my desire to dream of being in the fashion industry. I also interned at a museum while I was in college. I worked with various ladies’ fans, which expanded for centuries. When I received my master’s degree, I had the opportunity to work packing and handling multiple artifacts, which gave me experience in how to care for and inventory wedding gowns to arrowheads.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, but I have learned a great deal. While I was going to college, I, with my Dad, cared for my mother, who was ill, so life wasn’t full of parties and hanging around friends. I went to school, came home, and did what I was called to do: care for my mother. It was hard because I wasn’t like the other kids, but God got me through it. I’ve learned it’s cool to be unique and different than everybody else. All my dreams of being that Fashion authority had to be put on hold. I look back on my life and realize the gratefulness and thankfulness that I was there for my mother when she needed me. I ask you to consider what’s most important in your life now, and you will never regret your decision. My pastor says our power phrase: We are Lifelong learners!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am thankful to be a writer for BubblingwithEleganceandgrace.com and a Style influencer for almost sixteen years, sharing everything about my lifestyle, from fashion to my Christian faith. I talk about fashion, but I always share that everyone matters no matter what. I am an encourager and a champion for anyone who feels they are never enough, no matter what they do. I specialize in sharing my knowledge of Fashion and lifestyle through simplistic methods and not making it feel unattainable because everyone has style. Style means many things to different people so that it can go far beyond Fashion, and that’s what I teach to my readers and viewers on my YouTube channel.

I am known for being honest and sharing my opinions with readers and viewers. I am also thankful for being a Momentum Influencer and sharing family-friendly reviews of movies, Bibles, and other faith-based products.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
God gets all the glory for my success. Without Him, I am nothing.
I thank my parents and grandmother for investing in me so that I could get a good education and pursue my dreams in life.
I thank my husband for believing in me and coming aboard as a co-director on Bubblingwitheleganceandgrace.com and as a film editor for the YouTube channel Living With Elegance and Grace. I couldn’t do what I do without his expertise and thought sessions.
