Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Boehne
Hi Alicia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well it started with 2 of us Kelsie Smith and Alicia Boehne. Kelsie has a background in criminal justice. Alicia has worked in Salons for the last 26 years. Both very different occupations but both of us have fashion in common. Alicia started with a boutique in her salon. And Kelsie had a children’s boutique out of her home. Our husbands are childhoood friends so spending time together one day brought lots of new ideas and KlōTHēer Boutique was born.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think we could both agree that’s it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Learning the business is something we are both interested in. We spend a lot of time trying to find new merchandise, learning the advertising side of the business, and trying new things to stand out. Some minor hiccups of learning who our target market is and surviving some mistakes made along the way has only made us stronger.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Like mentioned before we wear many hats in our busy lives. Kelsie who has a masters in criminal justice administration, worked with kids in the justice system to becoming a mom to her own kids. She now sells real estate and is a vital part to the boutique. Managing the store, online store, and employees. Alicia is also a mom and full time behind the chair in her salon. Salon Thairapy is home to 5 stylists, nail tech, lash tech, massage therapist, and nurse practitioner who offers esthetics and iv therapy. When she’s not working the salon shes trying to find the latest trends and buying inventory for the boutique.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love where we are from. Being from a small metro east town and having the convenience of being able to be within driving distance to so much.
