Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for having me! I grew up in a small town of Owensville, but proudly Latina raised by Latino Parents. I’m the only girl of 3 boys. From a small age my parents always supported our dreams and goals. It all started when I got into makeup. I always got so excited for the final touch, lashes, even when it’s just a strip lash. I saw the girls on social media platforms doing eyelash extensions, and I was always so interested in them, just my whole feed of eyelashes! So then I went on a Facebook page I follow called St. Louis Hairstylists + Beauty Professionals and asked for recommendations for lash certification trainers. My trainer Natalie Carroll guided me through certification training. I kept on practicing at home. Then decided it was time for more than just my little spare bedroom. I’ve now been at Beauty Mark Salon Suit in Union, Missouri.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a learning experience, especially in the beauty industry. Trends change fast; another emerges when you think you have conquered a trend. It’s pretty cool learning new trends mixed in with the old ones, but long hours of work, education, and training are lots of back pain. Buts it’s just a beautiful thing to come to a space where women feel glamorous and walk out the door feeling 10 x’s better than when they first walked in.

Can you talk to us about the role of luck?
I’ve always believed that bad circumstances and situations aren’t always bad because they make us learn from our mistakes and make us a better person. I believe I’ve been blessed with the opportunities and circumstances that have been placed in my path.
