Hi Bethany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As an elementary school teacher, I always have my creative thinking cap on! My husband bought me a Cricut Machine for Mother’s Day in 2018. I began to design decals and cut outs for my classroom. Co-workers began to ask me to make cups, decals, tees, etc. for them. I began to sell so many items that I created Fritz Creations LLC.
Today, I have sold nearly 1,000 tees and cups (among other items). Most of my sales are through social media platforms, but I’m working on expanding my creations by selling items directly off my very own website (should be up and running very soon)! I recently started offering sublimation as my business continues to thrive. I truly put my heart and soul into each custom design. This small business brings me so much joy! I definitely wouldn’t call it a “job”, rather a hobby that I love!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning my own business gives me the flexibility to take in as many orders as I wish and set my own schedule. At first, it was challenging to balance my work and home life. I’m a full-time teacher, wife, and mother to two very busy little boys. Most of my orders are completed on early weekend mornings or late nights, so I don’t take away from family time. It also gives me the opportunity to enjoy alone time, which is quite rare in this busy life!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in vinyl and sublimation custom design. My most popular items are t-shirts, tumblers, and mugs, but I’ve completed many other unique gifts upon customer request. These items range from wall art to custom doormats. I’m most proud of my t-shirt designs. I love running errands and seeing customers sporting my tees! There is nothing more rewarding than customers wearing my apparel for special events such as first birthdays or family photos.
I believe what sets me apart from others is the fact that I communicate clearly with my customers to design items exactly the way they envision the final product. I only use high-quality materials, and my perfectionism can always ensure the items are just right!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned throughout this journey is to be willing to take the risk. As a business owner, it’s challenging to put yourself out there and hope people love your creations as much as you do.
