Today we’d like to introduce you to Delrissa and Curtis Richardson III.
Hi Delrissa and Curtis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The heart of Rich Decor and Entertainment came from a deep-rooted passion of design and music. My name is Delrissa Richardson the decorator for the company. I remember as a very young girl watching my mother watch the TV show ‘This Old House’ with Bob Villa. I remember watching the show and being completely mesmerized by the process of reconstruction and rehabilitation. This fascination grew by watching my parents tear down walls and lay flooring, turning a completely bare space into something feasible for their family. After leaving home, my husband Curtis Richardson and I sought out a place of worship, somewhere we could grow as individuals and as a unit while serving God. Through all our wondering we were driven to St Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony L. Hinton and First Lady Tracy Hinton in Alton, IL. I will never forget walking down to the basement of the church where our annual Pastoral and Church Anniversary. I looked around at the simple balloons used for Decor and thought this is where I want to serve. I asked the First Lady of the church if I could be on the decorating committee and she said yes!
The church was very small and in need of a musician. Hello, my name is Curtis Richardson III live musician and vocalist my story is straight forward GOD had a plan that cultivated my passion for music and turned it into something greater so that we could provide a service to our community that would be genuine and pure while loving GOD and playing music I love. So when I was asked to play for the church, I was more than grateful because I grew up in the church watching family and Friends play and sing so naturally. I always dreamed of being in a position to break soil and plant seeds of hope through music.
Fast forward to 2020. In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, things changed. We sat down and talked about our future and the life we desired to have for our growing family. Sitting on the couch in our living room it hit us and there was the birth of Rich Decor and Entertainment.
We believe no one should have to sacrifice celebrating the most precious moments in life because of financial difficulty especially during the pandemic. This is not only our company it is our ministry. Helping to cultivate long-lasting relationships in business and spirituality while providing exceptional and immaculate service to everyone we encounter.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We’ve definitely had some struggles along the way. I think the most difficult was learning all the ins and outs of running a business! We really had to do a lot of research which took quite a long time to learn the basics, but we found some great mentors to help us along the way!

We specialize in event design, decorating and live entertainment for all occasions. Our main attraction is our reasonable pricing while still providing high-quality service. We’re most proud of ourselves for stepping out on faith and not letting the struggles we’ve faced deter us from pursuing our dream. We believe our desire to go above and beyond people’s expectations no matter their budget sets us apart from the next company.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
We love the diversity in St. Louis and not just in people but in the different textures, tones and culture in the city itself. From the breathtaking sunsets to the graffiti-ridden walls. We’ve been in St. Louis all our lives and have lived in many different parts of the city and we can honestly say that there’s really not one thing specific to St. Louis that we don’t like but if we had to pick one thing, it would be the traffic!
