Meet Domonique Appleby of MicromiBrows

Today we’d like to introduce you to Domonique Appleby.

Hi Domonique, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I got my start by becoming interested in beauty. Actually from me watching love and hip hop wanting to be fly and jazzy like they were. I started researching Atlanta and the beauty industry. I stumbled upon Microblading year 2014 on YouTube. Since then I said I have to learn this technique and take to Atlanta to give to all the jazzy ladies. I took a training the technique was very interesting. So learned it and mastered it. Later on, I wrote a published book on it found on Amazon. Now, I’m one of many leading the industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. I worked day and night trying to figure out. How to get my business on the map. I was never taught business or marketing. There was days no clients or calls. This business is what I depended on, but I would talk to myself and say. Why come here to quiet, why keep going girl it gets better.

We’ve been impressed with MicromiBrows, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I first started my company I was only doing Microblading which is also known as a type of permanent makeup to your brows. Since then I have expanded to teaching. And offering a wide range of services such as Lash extensions, ombré brows, facials and more spa services. We now even sell our own products.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We pride ourselves in customer service. Also, black female owned.
