Meet Erin Fraundorf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Fraundorf.

Hi Erin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am originally from Wisconsin and began my journey to orthodontics there as I completed my undergraduate studies at the University Of Wisconsin – La Crosse. There, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, and Spanish with a minor in art. Following college, I moved to Louisville for dental school and received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville.

After four years in Louisville, I moved to St Louis to complete my 30-month residency of specialized training in orthodontics. I received a specialty Certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Master of Science in Dentistry and Orthodontics at Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education. I had incredible opportunities during residency including a master’s thesis research publication, a fellowship with Washington University’s Craniofacial Cleft Lip and Palate team at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and providing no-cost dental care at the Boys and Girls Club Dental Clinic for local community members.

During residency, I fell in love with St Louis and never left. Since then, I have practiced at a few offices, some private practice, and some corporate. All of my varying experiences creating smiles in St Louis sculpted the doctor I am today and left me wanting more for my patients– more quality doctor time, more customization, more experience-based care. That desire is what sparked my creation– BOCA.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Any sort of post-high school education proves to be incredibly challenging, specifically when you are on the path to orthodontics or another highly-coveted dental or medical specialty. With this particular specialty, the competition is intense and you have to be top of your class to get in. Subsequently, there were innumerable sleepless nights studying and many friendships and relationships that had to be understood of that priority and lifestyle. Thankfully, I had an incredible support system of family and friends that always was there when I needed them and continued to encourage me to pursue my dreams.

Today, I continue pursuing my dreams as I open my studio in an effort to provide the ultimate in orthodontic and whitening care. And throughout this process, my family and friends have never ceased cheering me on every step of the way. Keeping your inner circle and support system around you, your goals in mind, and celebrating each victory, no matter how seemingly small, is what will drive you even on the most tiresome of days.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I designed BOCA to transform the way smile care is done.

BOCA’s patient-centric, esthetic-forward mantra revolutionizes orthodontics and whitening to make treatment an experience.

From our skilled team to our state-of-the-art facilities and exquisite attention to detail, everything and everyone you encounter in our care embodies our aesthetic vision. By providing the ultimate in luxury, comfort, and modern customized care in our studio, we strive to improve the quality of life of every patient who walks through our door. Our patients receive curated care customized to their specific desires, goals, and lifestyles. Every smile and every journey is unique and BOCA’s practice reflects that in every hand-crafted, tailored treatment plan and experience.

Our motivation is to create an orthodontic practice of unparalleled experience and results. We want you to love your smile and love the journey getting there.

Classically trained but innovative in our approach to treatment, BOCA bridges the gap between the classic and modern orthodontic worlds by providing superior care in a technology-driven, stunning facility with caring, detail-oriented clinicians and staff. Our methods have a strong foundation in traditional orthodontics with the art of modern aesthetics woven in to create a revolutionary approach to orthodontics.

We take a curious, open-minded, outside-the-box approach to the work we do. We embrace innovation and push boundaries. We believe in lifelong learning so if there is a new, improved way of doing things, we are eager to dive in.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Ambition. I think intellect and hard work are absolutely core factors in the formula for success, but without ambition, you will have no catalyst. You will get nowhere without a fierce drive and desire for achievement. Intellect has its limits and hard work can dissipate. Consistent ambition is the key that will get you places.
