Meet Falyn Marie of St Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Falyn Marie.

Hi Falyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Falyn Marie & I started learning how to sew when I was a little girl. My granny taught me most of everything I know. Then I went to a private school where I took a sewing class. I would make stuff occasionally but it would be for me or family & friends. After I started getting really comfortable I started sewing for my headwear business. I would make all of my products myself. Then about 2018-19 my friend Niaja started telling everybody I made clothes & for everyone to books outfits with me. I wasn’t taking it serious enough until a lot of people started asking for outfits cause she was telling everybody to come to me. Finally in 2023 I did my first fashion show & at the moment everything took off. I went viral overnight & decided I should really take this seriously. Then from that moment I meant Misha J & that really changed my life. I started helping her as an intern while finishing my last year of college. From that point Misha has taught me a lot as well & she is the reason I am where I am today. I really thank God we was able to cross paths. Now in 2026 I offer alterations, custom outfits for all occasions, premade dress & custom costumes for all ages.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a semi-smooth road. Going from just working with friends & family to working with everybody has taught me patience. I have gained more knowledge on how to handle certain situations. I have also learned that it is ok to turn down clients.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make custom outfits for anybody. I specialize in sewing. I enjoy sewing what makes me different from others is I like to be really creative when I am working. You will know I made it just by looking at it & everyone will be different nobody will ever look the same.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My friends & family deserve credit because they are always referring my business to people.

Misha JJ deserve a lot of credit because she has been teaching me a lot of stuff that has helped me get through prom season. She has helped me get a lot of hands on experience with making prom dresses.
