Meet Jake Fisher of MoGlassCo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Fisher, founder and owner of MoGlassCo. A smoke shop in St. Peters Missouri.

Hi Jake, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
We started as most owners do, or the best ones do – as consumers! We spent our formative years in smoke shops, attending events and concerts, camping at festivals, and diving face first into what the available “cannabis scene” was here in the midwest. It was rough around the edges and still is even, despite the attention and modern magnifying glass placed over the medicinal and recreational use of cannabis. That roughness drove me and still pushes us to want to provide a helpful, responsible, and hopefully meaningful shopping experience for consumers and non-consumers alike!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with most roads, none are smooth, and obstacles are plenty. All experiences are an opportunity to learn, and taking inventory of these struggles makes them easier to handle as we continue our journey in the smoke shop retail space.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a smoke shop located at 7831 Mexico Road in St. Peters, Missouri. We’ve been a company for over 3 years sponsoring and vending various events and festivals in the Midwest area. In 2021 we opened our brick-and-mortar retail space with the help of family and friends. We’ve also retained membership with the O’fallon Chamber of Commerce, which hosted our grand opening and still help us in networking with other local businesses. We appreciate the community around us and love the spot we’re carving out in what used to be a “counter-culture.”

What we specialize in, sets us apart, and makes me most proud are the same: Our local products! We carry art, jewelry, glass pipes even soaps and scents from different Missouri artists and craft workers. We hope to expand on our selection as we continue to grow! Along with local art, we carry your everyday brands for grinders, papers, rigs, bangers, cleaners, and more!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I don’t see any significant changes besides recreational marijuana legalization and hopefully fair laws that make it accessible to small businesses like ourselves. Smoking and consumption, for all the advancements it’s made since I started smoking so many years – are still as simple as ever. You have your vessel filled with product and then heated up to inhale, exhale and enjoy. That simplicity allows for so much variation that it’s always an exciting time to be a smoker. The fun part of being a retail smoke shop is we get to dip our fingers into many different industries instead of being restricted to one. We are excited to watch how various industries change and grow, but at the end of the day, there is beauty in the simplicity of enjoying what you smoke!
