Hi Jamie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am Jamie Henderson a dedicated professional driven by a profound commitment to excellence, fueled by a blend of passion, kindness, caffeine, and innovative thinking. Firmly anchored in the belief that life is not a quest to find oneself but a journey to create oneself, I have diligently crafted a career trajectory that reflects this ethos. I gained many years of experience working for different companies and picking up various skills along the way. I learned from a lot of different people who helped shaped who I am today.
When I first moved to Saint Louis at the age of 20 from Galesburg Illinois, I began working in the fast-food industry and quickly rose to a corporate management position. Despite the long hours and low pay, I pursued higher education to gain more skills. I obtained my first degree in Business Management from Harris-Stowe State University in 2014. However, obtaining a degree did not automatically translate into career advancement. I realized that success is measured by the combination of experience and knowledge one possesses. This realization marked the beginning of my journey to becoming the person I am today.
After leaving corporate management in the fast-food industry, I worked in various positions for different corporations. It wasn’t until I landed a role at the city of Saint Louis as a real estate receptionist that I truly felt a sense of growth. Working alongside talented and knowledgeable individuals, I was eager to excel. However, after a few years, I recognized that there was limited room for personal and professional growth within the organization. This realization, coupled with a personal tragedy in 2019 when my husband was murdered. He was a victim of the city’s community violence. This tragedy and the City of Saint Louis’s then rule, “to work for the city you had to live in the city,” ultimately led me to reevaluate my career path.
Following this tragic event, I made the decision to venture into entrepreneurship. I started doing private consulting, where I work with clients from various sectors to help them achieve their goals. I currently work individually with 3-5 clients monthly to assist them with their projects. Additionally, I co-founded Beta Blue Digital, where I currently serve as the Senior Director. Beta Blue Digital is the first official hip-hop sync licensing library, specializing in licensing music for various visual media platforms. I hold a pivotal role in spearheading business development and overseeing operational management at Beta Blue Digital, our company quickly began to thrive and I wanted to be exceptional. Knowing this I quickly enrolled in The Los Angeles Film School to obtain a degree in Entertainment Business Management, and I am set to graduate in the fall of 2025. This would allow me to gain the additional knowledge I needed to thrive as a music executive and also learn music supervision. My primary area of expertise centers on business development, music supervision and its strategic placement in the realms of film and television. Recognizing the transformative power of music in shaping narratives and evoking emotions, I strive to ensure that the music resonates as profoundly as the visual content itself. Drawing upon a foundation in Business Management, Administration, and Entertainment Business Management, I bring to the fore over 19 years of seasoned leadership experience.
Throughout the course of my professional journey, I have garnered commendations for my exceptional aptitude as a leader, underscored by outstanding communication skills. A proven track record punctuated by adept management of company finances, adherence to project timelines, meticulous record-keeping practices, and adept negotiation of contractual agreements attest to my proficiency in operational oversight. Moreover, boasting over 11 years as a seasoned content creator, I encompass a diverse skill set that spans the gamut from orchestrating recording sessions to proficiency in various Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), track mixing and mastering, video production, animation, and software editing.
My ardor for technology is deeply ingrained, underscored by certifications in digital marketing, website design, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google Analytics, and social media advertising. My expertise transcends mere engagement; I possess a profound understanding of how to amplify digital platforms, foster audience engagement, and deliver comprehensive training to individuals seeking to navigate this dynamic landscape. A commitment to remaining at the vanguard of technological advancements underscores my unwavering dedication to adaptability in the face of the ever-evolving digital milieu.
I am in the final stages to the completion of my book series titled “What the F%$k is Music Licensing,” “What the F%$k is Real Estate Investing,” “What the F%$k is an Entrepreneur,” and “What the F%$k is Entrepreneur 365 Planner and Business Development Guide.” These books serve as valuable resources for individuals and entrepreneurs seeking to achieve financial freedom and establish successful independent businesses.

In essence, I am an ambitious individual who thrives on challenges, perpetually seeking novel avenues for innovation and growth. My unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and crafting impactful experiences underscores my enduring dedication to excellence.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have certainly been challenges throughout my journey. I became a mother at 18 and had four more children soon after. I faced the struggle of providing for myself and my children. My son was diagnosed with a brain tumor at a young age but has been in remission since he turned 12. Tragically, I lost my husband to gun violence in 2019, forcing me to navigate the grieving process while supporting my children through the trauma of losing a parent in such a horrific manner.
Following this devastating loss, I also took on the responsibility of helping care for my ailing mother with my brother. As I was in the process of building a business, I was faced with unexpected news in May 2023 – I was pregnant at the age of 40. Despite my initial concerns, my mother reassured me, sharing that she had me at the same age and everything would be okay. Sadly, my mother passed away shortly after, leaving me reeling from the loss of my confidante and best friend.
During my pregnancy, I faced health complications that required a lengthy hospital stay at Barnes. At seven months pregnant, I underwent an emergency c-section. Fortunately, my daughter was born healthy and thriving. In honor of my mother, I named her Joyce Ann.
