Meet Joseph Kaufmann of Kirkwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Kaufmann.

Hi Joseph, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from University Missouri Rolla in 2020, and then graduated from Logan in 2024. Chiropractic initially resonated with me because it is a natural form of healing and it is hands on. I have always been involved in physical labor and work; it’s in my blood. Painting, sculpting, constructing, and shaping. I get it from my Dad because he’s a dentist, and he shapes teeth and does construction as well. He always does the job well and treats patients and staff well. He’s the reason I am in the healthcare field. When I was studying and practicing at Logan, my curiosity for learning chiropractic snowballed because of the great results. It actually accelerated my recovery so much, I want to dive into research and dedicate my life to research.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t have time to complain.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My bread and butter is diagnosing, examining, and adjusting the spine and optimizing the nervous system. This means examine the body head to toe, knowing the patients day to day work and putting yourself in their position to understand how they are misaligned and correcting them. I am great at examine and adjusting extremities as well. I am a great foot adjuster and I want to be the best in the world. Your feet are a base at which the whole body rests. The highest priorityis to always do the right thing and work as hard as possible to heal the patient to maximum potential. I have experimented with a new way to adjust ribs which require little force. I have adjusted a patients cheekbone and they got sinus relief . My adjustments have helped patients with scoliosis, headaches, TMD ( temporal mandibular dysfunction), concussions, back pain, cerebral palsy, etc. I had a teenage patient who I adjusted his shoulder, elbow, and wrist and increased his grip strength afterwards. I am certified in dry needling which is not acupuncture, but is a mechanical healing force by which it untorques tissue in the body.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I had amazing teachers at Logan who taught me great techniques to adjust the body and give me the confidence to practice on my own. I don’t dwell on bad luck; it’s a waste of time:
