Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Clark.
Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m an Artist, Writer, and a Poet and 10 years ago I started an online business entitled KJAC Designs (pronounced K-JACK) dedicated to my work. I wanted to create a business that would be positive, creative, and inspirational. KJAC Designs has been my answer to that.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely could have been a smoother road with my business being based in the online universe, the world of technology is constantly changing and progressing. That requires constant adaptation, which has always been challenging for me and my business. I’m no technological genius, so figuring out the new changes that arise has always been a struggle. Still, I’m very open to learning and growing as I piece together the new puzzles I continuously face. It’s about figuring out what pieces fit together and what don’t.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
My work has two sides to it: Art and Inspiration. For the art side, I create photography and digital abstract art. For most of my photography work, I enhance it to bring a certain level of vibrance and aesthetic art form, and most of it revolves around my love of travel and nature. The initial photograph I take is nothing more than a canvas of what I can do with it, and the vibrance I bring to my work is my way of sharing how I see the world.
For the inspirational side, I write inspirational sayings and poetry. I like setting up different themes for my inspirational sayings and then writing groups around that theme. My three most established themes are Dream Big, Enjoy Life, and Better World Movement. The idea of writing around a theme comes from the “No Fear” brand that was around when I was growing up. I used to love their message and would collect their hats and t-shirts. I also always thought it was a great platform because it established a strong foundation for brand loyalty. When I was starting to build KJAC Designs, though, I wanted it to be a platform for multiple themes that interest me, with all of them having an inspirational undertone.
For KJAC Designs, I have multiple online gift shops, through collaboration with several print-on-demand companies, that allow me to offer my work on various gifts for all occasions with low overhead. As far as what I’m most proud of, this collaboration opportunity has allowed me to share my work with people worldwide, bringing to life my dream of inspiring people on a global scale. My work is rooted in how I love life and see the world. That foundation creates the uniqueness that sets me apart from others. I write and create from my soul; no other human on earth has this soul but me. What’s more unique than that?
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Resilience and Faith can get you through any storm.
