Meet Keyon Watkins of Sauce So Good, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyon Watkins.

Hi Keyon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in St. Louis, I was no stranger to hard times. Being the youngest of 5 kids, I saw my parents work hard and strive to give me the best. I was fortunate to attend the Ladue School District through the desegregation program. I graduated in 2006 and then attended Harris-Stowe State University, where I obtained my BA in Computer Science and Management Information Systems. After years of working in corporate America. I decided to work with my brother and father for the family BBQ Restaurant. While working there, I learned more about the bbq business, and I was able to apply my education to make changes to the business. I grew a passion for grilling, and after experimenting with different flavors and styles, I decided to put Sauce So Good on the market. Since October 2020, I have been a permanent vendor at Soulard Market Place.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with anything, there will always be pros and cons. I would say that Sauce So Good has been blessed with great customers and positive feedback. However, the hardest challenge I faced was taking a risk, believing in myself, and having the confidence to put myself out there.

First, let me start by saying that if you haven’t tasted my spicy or mild bbq sauce, you are missing out on a life-changing experience. I can confidently say that I haven’t yet met a disappointed face. With that being said, I stand by all of my products. My brand specializes in making gourmet barbecue sauces, dry rubs, and other seasoning blends. All my products are vegan-friendly and gluten-free, with a low sugar and sodium content. I created this brand as something people from all walks can enjoy. With traditional homemade flavors, I look forward to adding more styles and flavors to our brand soon.
