Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Reed.

Hi Matthew, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well…this may sound crazy, but it’s always been in my genetic makeup it feels like lol. I’ve always been involved with anything that had some attachment to music…dancing, making music, slight videography, and so many other niches/hobbies. In high school I used to control the music for all the parties in the neighborhood…before actually getting into the art of djing, I used to just hang with all the djs back in my regular party goer days so when i’d go out if I wasn’t on the dancefloor (back when it was cool to dance) I’d be in or in the general area of the dj booth…I picked up the actual art of DJing 2 years ago this year is my third year in the industry after breaking up with my girlfriend at the time I was bored sad and needed something to do and the rest has been an amazing experience I’ve DJs at all the hotspots, hole in the walls, pop ups, fashion shows, album releases, podcasts the whole nine lol

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes and no as far as growing skill wise hell yeah it’s been easy but landing big gigs or getting my name out there took some real footwork for sure lots of free gigs and mostly posting clips on the net

As you know, we’re big fans of Blueprint DJs . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Honestly the best new gen djs the city of St.Louis has to offer that’s it…I’ll let you see instead of trying to overly convince readers with words we’re from the show me state…

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Honestly lol buying my first pair of shoes with my own money
