Meet Micah Crée of St Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Crée.

Micah , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been passionate about music since I was 3 years old. From a very young age, I was inspired by artists such as Alicia Keys, Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Selena, Lauryn Hill, Brandy, and Solange. Their artistry, storytelling, and ability to connect with people through music had a huge impact on me growing up.

Performing has always been a part of who I am. As I got older, I began to discover my own voice and started writing my own music. Songwriting became a way for me to express my emotions, share my experiences, and tell my story. Music has always been more than just a passion—it’s been an outlet, a source of healing, and a way for me to connect with others.

Over the years, I’ve continued to grow as an artist, developing my sound and confidence. Today, I’m proud to share my music with the world through my project Metaphors EP Vol. 1 and continue creating songs that come from a genuine place. My journey has been filled with learning experiences, growth, and perseverance, and I’m excited to see where music takes me next.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many independent artists, I’ve faced challenges that tested my patience, confidence, and dedication to my craft. It’s been about three years since I last released new music, and during that time I experienced a lot of personal growth and overcame obstacles that forced me to step back and focus on myself.

Although I wasn’t releasing music publicly, I never stopped being creative. I continued writing, reflecting, and finding inspiration through life’s experiences. Those years taught me resilience and gave me a deeper understanding of who I am—not only as an artist but as a person.

Now I’m in a place where I have so much to say. I’ve been working on new music that I haven’t released yet, and it’s some of my most honest and personal work. Every challenge I’ve faced has shaped my perspective and given me new stories to tell. Looking back, I’m grateful for the journey because it has helped me grow and prepare for this next chapter of my career.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer-songwriter and recording artist who creates music rooted in storytelling, emotion, and real-life experiences. My current project, Metaphors Vol. 1, is available on all major streaming platforms and represents different stages of growth, self-discovery, and transformation. Through my music, I aim to connect with listeners on a deeper level and remind them that they are not alone in what they feel.

Currently, I’m working on a new project called Back to the Drawing Board. This upcoming body of work reflects where I am in life today and explores the lessons, challenges, and experiences that have shaped me over the past few years. It’s a project I’m incredibly excited to share because it represents a new chapter in my artistic journey.

What I’m most proud of is staying true to myself and continuing to create despite the obstacles I’ve faced. Music has always been my passion, and I’m proud that I’ve never given up on it, even during seasons when I wasn’t actively releasing music.

What sets me apart from others is my unique and distinctive sound. I’ve never tried to fit into a specific mold or follow trends. I believe the best music comes from authenticity, and I strive to be unapologetically myself in everything I create. My voice, my stories, and my perspective are uniquely mine, and that’s what I bring to every song.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I’ve always had a very outgoing and energetic personality. I’ve never been afraid to be myself, and I’ve always been more of a leader than a follower. I enjoyed bringing people together, making others laugh, and expressing myself creatively. Even as a child, I had a strong sense of individuality and wasn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd.

Music was one of my biggest interests growing up and quickly became a huge part of who I am. I was always singing a tune, putting on little performances, or finding any excuse to entertain those around me. Whether it was singing around the house or performing for family and friends, music came naturally to me and brought me so much joy.

Looking back, those early experiences helped shape the artist I am today. The confidence, creativity, and passion I had as a child are the same qualities that continue to drive me in my music career. I’ve always loved connecting with people through music, and that passion has only grown stronger over the years.
