Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikaela Morgan.
Hi Mikaela , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field from when I was young. I graduated from Saint Louis University School of Nursing with a 5 and 10 year plan which included working in the ICU, pick up a few travel contracts and go back to school for a graduate program. I entered the nursing workforce in an ICU at a level 1 trauma hospital. In the heart of Covid. Talk about a challenge.
I was a fresh baby nurse, not even 21 yet, taking care of the sickest of the sick and dealing with very traumatic days/nights. That lasted about a year until I realized I needed to alter my plan and make a change.
When I first heard about doing Botox and fillers, I wad doing a midnight bed bath with a fellow nurse. She said she did injections on the side and worked at the hospital PRN. I knew I had to get into that field. I didn’t know it was an option without much nursing background.
I reached out to multiple local med spas on social media and all of them told me I needed experience before they would hire me and no one would give a new injector a chance. I’m so grateful everyone passed because there would be no M Aesthetics if I trained and worked at a med spa!
In 2022, I started training for injectables and worked alongside my mentor for a few months until the anew year when I was ready to go out on my own. M Aesthetics was born in 2023 and i’ve never looked back!
M Aesthetics was born out of love for beauty and skincare and helping others feel their best. This industry has not been very accessible to all types of people and socioeconomic classes in the past. I built M Aesthetics keeping the everyday person in mind. I treat lots of nurses, teachers, moms and workers who aren’t considered “rich”. I keep my prices fair and reasonable so everyone can have the chance to feel their best. My mom was the most deserving of feeling her best growing up, but that was just not ever in the budget. This little dream all started because of her.
I pride myself on anatomy and knowledge of the aging process. I spend lots of money and time on continuing education all over the country to bring back the best techniques and styles back to my STL besties! This industry is forever evolving and I refuse to ever stop learning. I am constantly upping my game and forever grateful to my clients to continue to trust me with their beautiful faces.
2026 is going to be the best year yet at M Aesthetics- I can feel it now <3
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Is it ever a smooth road? It’s continuously a battle when you own your own business. If it’s not imposter syndrome telling you you’re not good enough, it’s the hours of work you spend on social media posts only to get 3 likes (one being your mother). I have such a great support system of friends, family and other injectors that keep me grounded and feeling grateful. My wonderful family understands the 24/7 business hours that come with being a CEO and only employee. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I actually love my job.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a cosmetic nurse injector located in Chesterfield, Mo. I do all things injectables including Botox, fillers, microneedling, medical weight loss, skin resurfacing peels. I specialize in treating the entire face and healing from the inside out rather than using bandaid treatments for a quick fix. My clients would tell you I am there for long-lasting and quality relationships than there for a quick buck. I only recommend treatments that would benefit you and have actual results! A goal of mine was for all of my clients to be able to say “do whatever, I trust you completely.” I am so passionate about my work and my client’s experience & I hope it shows!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I hate the stigma our wonderful Saint Louis has. I lived downtown and those were some of the best years of my life. We have amazing food and sooo much culture. We are foodies over at this house, so trying new places to eat and going to the movies are our favorite date nights.
