Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Simon
Hi Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Nicole! I began my real estate journey in 2007, because I loved the process of buying my husband and my first home.
I love working with buyers to find their first home, their dream home, or the perfect investment property. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide clients through such an important decision and make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. For sellers, I’m dedicated to ensuring they achieve the best deal for their property by using proven strategies to maximize value and market appeal.
In addition to helping clients, I’m also a real estate investor with two long-term rentals and two short-term rentals that I self-manage. Over the past few years, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience in everything from renovations and rent roll management to keeping short-term rentals booked and thriving. I do it all, and I love sharing that expertise to help others succeed.
While I enjoy residential sales, my primary focus is on property management. By the beginning of the new year, I’m thrilled to be launching my own boutique property management brokerage: Property Mom STL.
Through Property Mom STL, I aim to provide investors with a hands-on, boutique approach to property management, combining expert guidance, personalized care, and a focus on maximizing returns. My mission is to empower property owners with the tools, education, and support they need to achieve their investment goals with confidence.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not exactly—like most things in life, it’s had its challenges. I started my real estate career in Arizona, and just when I was getting into the groove, we packed up and moved to Missouri for my husband to attend law school. Starting over in a new market was tough. I didn’t know anyone, and I had to rebuild my real estate presence from scratch. It was a lot of networking, learning the ins and outs of the St. Louis market, and figuring out how to stand out in a place where I had no prior connections.
And all of that happened while I was raising three kids and running another business! Some days feel manageable, but others can feel like they never end. Balancing family, work, and entrepreneurship is a constant juggle. My love for real estate keeps me going.
Fast forward a few years, and I’ve earned my broker’s license, grown my client base, and feel settled here in St. Louis. Those early struggles taught me resilience and fueled my passion for helping others. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is the hands-on, personalized approach I bring to every property I sell or manage. I’m very personable and naturally build strong rapport with my clients and tenants, which helps me create long-lasting relationships and deliver exactly what they need. Whether it’s helping investors set up their first rental property, designing a space that stands out in the short-term and mid-term rental market, or guiding someone through the process of buying their dream home, I’m fully invested in every step of the journey.
As a transplant to St. Louis, I remember how daunting it felt to move to a new city without knowing much about it. That’s why I love working with people moving into the area—I can share my insights and help make their transition as seamless and welcoming as possible.
I’m most proud of the personal connections I’ve built with my clients and the trust they place in me to treat their properties and investments as if they were my own. Brand-wise, I aim to be synonymous with quality, care, and expertise in property management, real estate, and property setup consulting and design.
What I want readers to know is that my services go beyond the basics of property management. I offer a comprehensive approach that includes design, setup, consulting, and even market insights for newcomers to the area. Whether you’re a seasoned investor, a first-time landlord, or someone relocating to St. Louis, I’m here to make the process as smooth and successful as possible.
I currently co-host for clients on Airbnb, which has been giving me a small taste of property management. As well as help new owners set up their mid term rentals. I have gained knowledge in many areas of real estate over the last 17 years, and I am excited to be able to help more people and support them with their real estate journeys.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible support and encouragement I’ve had along the way. First and foremost, my husband has been my rock. He supports me in all my crazy ideas and stands by me through the ups and downs of running a business. From moving across states for his law school to being my constant sounding board, he’s always encouraged me to chase my goals and push through challenges.
My kids also deserve credit—they’ve taught me patience, resilience, and the art of multitasking like a pro. Balancing motherhood and a career hasn’t always been easy, but their love and understanding motivate me to keep going.
Lastly, I want to thank my cheerleaders—the friends, family, and even clients who’ve gone out of their way to root for me, share my services, and encourage me to take the next big step. They remind me that I’m never in this alone, and their belief in me fuels my belief in myself.
Building a business is never a solo effort, and I’m so grateful to have had so many incredible people along for the journey.
