Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Sheffield.
Hi Rachel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstories.
My drawing journey started after being observant and focused on my big sister’s art hanging on the wall and wondering if I could also draw. I had enough time to challenge my curiosity since I was on punishment. My first drawing was SpongeBob. The result of the drawing had me astounded. Later, I attended college to further my education in art. During the pandemic, I earned my certificate and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Visual Communication of Graphic Design. Hard work, dedication, and consistency got me where I am today in my graphic design career.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey of entrepreneurship is a challenging ride. Two of the struggles for me along the way would be teaching myself the business side of graphic design. And learning how to market myself on social media.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Jack of All Trades in the graphic design industry. I am known for branding small businesses and a company that gives great customer service. However, I specialize in logo designs for small businesses. Being trustworthy in the graphic design industry sets me apart from others. Often I hear many people say they are skeptical of working with graphic designers because they don’t have direct contact with them after payment has been made. At Rachel Designs, we offer zoom meetings during the process so clients can feel involved and comfortable with us. I am proud that my story is underscored by one constant truth: Being happy daily and living life with my family & friends.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is a reward given to a person who has taken their goal seriously and put forth the effort into achieving their goals.
