Meet Tim Price of Harvest Ministry Teams, Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Price

Hi Tim , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began playing guitar as a 6th grader. In high school I wrote songs and began singing in area churches. The summer after high school graduation I led worship for camps around southern Illinois. All through college (McKendree, Lebanon, IL) doors were open to the point it became my job – leading for churches, conferences and events. Once I began seminary (Asbury, Wilmore, KY), I thought I better start replacing myself for all these camps and events I had been doing: I invited some young adults to travel with me that next summer and Harvest Ministry was born. Since then over 350 students have traveled on full time teams, we’ve recorded music, we e hosted conferences and events and we invested in the lives of the next generation since 1996. We just completed our 29th summer! I serve on parting staff at my home church and also direct Harvest, a non profit. When I first sensed a call to ministry, I knew it didn’t seem like I would be a pastor — but I didn’t know what thr other options were. .The Lord has definately been in this lifetime of ministry in this unique way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The ministry has been funded through both supporters and honorariums — though the Lord has provided, raising funds has always been a thing we’ve had to work hard at.

We’ve been impressed with Harvest Ministry Teams, Inc. , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Harvest Ministry Teams has a mission to GO OUT to sing, serve and share the love of Christ and to RAISE UP the next generation of Christian Disciples and ministry leaders.

We’re probably most known for leading worship at camps, conferences and churches around Illinois and the Midwest. I don’t know of many others who lead / serve in quite this way. We’re probably closest a Christian College who might send out a music team in the summer.

Our brand has always been a little across the board and I think I’m most proud of the fact that we’re not too worried about how that effects the ministry, we trust the Lord to take care of that. Sometimes the team is leading for kids, other times students, other times adults during a conference and at times senior adults – whatever were invited to! At times it’s a full band in a conference center and other times it’s just an acoustic guitar in a smaller setting.

We’re most grateful for the number of people who pray for us and support us financially.

What matters most to you?
Being available when people contact us to go serve and share the love of Jesus through music and ministry.
