Today we’d like to introduce you to Verniece Bailey.
Hi Verniece, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m going to share why I became a Massage Therapist. It started when I was encouraging my son to complete something important. I asked him if he could see himself becoming a Massage Therapist, and when he said yes, I told him that I would go on that journey with him.
My son and I began our massage careers together at a local massage franchise. After spending 10 years working for others and gaining experience in the field, I decided it was time to step out on faith and open my own massage business—Corner Spa 7.
Corner Spa 7 has now been in business for seven years. We survived COVID, and we continue to thrive. Today, my son Earl is managing a massage franchise himself, and I couldn’t be prouder
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, particularly as we faced the impact of COVID.
As you know, we’re big fans of Corner Spa 7. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I have been a licensed massage therapist for 19 years, specializing in deep tissue massage, while offering a full range of pressure levels. I’m known for providing massage that is both deeply therapeutic and nurturing. What truly sets me apart is my attentiveness to each client’s individual needs. I listen.
Our goal is to provide a calm, welcoming space where clients can truly relax, heal, and reconnect with their bodies. We specialize in both therapeutic and relaxation massage services, tailoring each session to the individual. Whether you’re managing stress, chronic pain, muscle tension, or simply in need of intentional self-care.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a child growing up in the 1970s, I was bossy, outgoing, and full of energy. I was the kind of kid who played outside from morning until the streetlights came on, which helped shape my athletic nature and confidence.
I was also deeply involved in the arts. I studied ballet, toe, and tap dancing, and I played both the clarinet and the flute. These early experiences helped develop my discipline, creativity, and love for movement and rhythm. Qualities that still influence who I am today
