Miss Paige Hamber shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Paige, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think a lot of people are secretly struggling with not knowing what they don’t know when it comes to money. They’re embarrassed to ask basic questions like “What’s the difference between a Roth and a traditional IRA?” or “How do I actually build credit the right way?” So instead, they smile, nod, and wing it—while quietly stressing over overdraft fees, maxed-out cards, or never feeling like they’re getting ahead.
Financial shame is real. Most folks didn’t grow up with real money conversations—they learned through trial, error, or not at all. But pretending to know keeps people stuck. The truth? A lot of successful-looking people are just one financial emergency away from chaos.
The silent struggle is feeling behind—and thinking you’re the only one who is. You’re not. The fix? Start asking. Start learning. Nobody was born financially literate. But staying financially ignorant? That’s optional.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Paige B. Hamber — Founder and Principal Consultant of Premier Consulting Group, a boutique business consulting and compliance firm. I bring over a decade of combined experience in finance, operations, and entrepreneurship, and I’m currently pursuing my MBA to further sharpen my expertise.
Throughout my journey, I’ve successfully launched and scaled businesses in industries ranging from beauty and fashion to finance. That real-world, cross-industry insight fuels the work I do today — helping professionals, founders, and organizations build scalable, fundable, and legally compliant businesses from the ground up.
Premier Consulting Group stands out because we don’t just offer services — we offer strategy. From business formation and credit optimization to funding readiness, notary services, and streamlined operations, we equip our clients with the structure and insight needed to thrive long-term.
Right now, I’m especially focused on expanding our impact in underserved communities and helping emerging entrepreneurs confidently navigate the world of business ownership — the right way, from day one.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mother taught me everything I know about work ethic. As a single Black mom, she carried a lot on her shoulders—but you’d never know it by the way she showed up. Every day, she walked into the office dressed sharp, in heels and business attire, like the boss she was.
We didn’t grow up wealthy, but we weren’t without. What we had was stability—and that came from her relentless drive. I watched her work hard through college, through career changes, and through life’s curveballs. That image of her grinding with grace was my first lesson in work ethic.
Now that I’m older, I carry that legacy with me—but I’ve also learned to work smarter, not harder. Her sacrifices built my foundation, and I’m using that to build generational progress.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely—there have been plenty of times I thought about giving up. The truth is, motivation fades fast. What really keeps things moving is discipline and consistency—especially when life is stacked.
I’m a full-time mom, working a full-time job, going to school full-time, and building a business designed to outlive me. Most days, it feels like I’m carrying a whole empire on my back. And yes, there are moments when quitting sounds easier.
But I don’t. I can’t. Because I genuinely love what I do—the knowledge I share, the lives I impact, and the legacy I’m building for my son. That’s bigger than burnout. That’s purpose.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
One project I’m deeply committed to—no matter how long it takes—is launching a nonprofit focused on empowering single moms and underprivileged minority youth through financial literacy.
I envision creating a full ecosystem: writing children’s books that make money make sense, hosting financial literacy readings at schools and libraries, and sponsoring hands-on workshops and programs that equip families with real-life financial tools.
This isn’t just a passion project—it’s a mission. I want to break generational cycles and build wealth education into our communities from the ground up, one family at a time.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
One thing I understand deeply that most people don’t is how credit actually works. Too many people lump all credit into the “bad” category, when in reality, there’s a big difference between bad credit and strategic credit.
Credit isn’t the enemy—misuse and misunderstanding are. When used wisely, credit is a powerful tool for building wealth, leveraging opportunities, and creating long-term financial freedom. Most people just haven’t been taught the rules of the game. I have—and I teach them.
