Mollie Amburgey’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Mollie Amburgey and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mollie, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I try to set my alarm for 7:00am, but since I do yoga twice a week at 6:00am, I usually wake up early, make coffee, and catch up on a good TV show. It’s the only time I usually have to watch TV. Or instead of the TV Show, sometimes I go to my desk and work on getting events set up, catching up on emails and social media,

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I enjoy doing stand up comedy and also host the Casually Mollie Podcast, a comedy and lifestyle podcast. I have continued to also host and produce live shows that showcase both local and out-of-town comedians, while fosting community connection. Recently, I expanded my creative reach by producing and hosting my first-ever dance party—a high-energy, Lady Gaga–themed celebration that drew people together through music, costume, and pure fun. This mix of comedy, podcasting, show production, and event hosting is unique because it bridges multiple forms of entertainment, allowing me to connect with audiences in diverse and memorable ways.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think that the bond between people can break when the connection to believe in each other falls apart. Whether it’s one sided or from both sides, when people feel like they aren’t believed in or are not supported in their beliefs, moments of need, and dreams, they can feel lost and distant from who they first connected with in the first place. On the other hand, what restores bonds is when people feel support from others without having to ask for it. When someone willing supports you, especially when that support is given without asking, that not only offers restortation and growth to a relationship among others, but also to oneself.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self not to worry so much, and that she was doing ok. I remember always being so hard on myself, and looking back old pictures, journals, and past memories, I was going through life exactly the way I was supposed to be.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say what really matters to me is protecting my friends at all costs. I never understood how someone could be someone’s friend and not stand up for them due to fear of any kind. When I’m someone’s friend, I’m loyal to them and will not allow them to be belittled by anyone or anything. Being there for my friends and my community is more important than being accepted or judged.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
When I give my best to something, it isn’t for the praise. It’s in knowing I accomplished what I set out to do. There’s a deep sense of satisfaction in completing a goal on my own terms. That feeling of personal achievement, of following through with dedication and intention, is gratifying enough to make the effort worthwhile. Success, to me, isn’t measured solely by external validation, but by the quiet pride that comes from knowing I showed up fully and did the work. Accepting your self worth is what gains you important connections and community.
