Hi Angelica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved doing my own nails, and it was something that brought me joy. At the time, I was working in a job I wasn’t passionate about, and things at work kept getting worse. I realized that life is too short to not be doing what I love, so I took the leap and applied to nail school. I’ve been licensed and doing nails since 2016. It was a big decision, but it’s been one of the best choices I’ve ever made, and now I get to help others feel great about themselves through my craft.
After working for a while as a nail technician in a Vietnamese shop for 6 years, I realized I wanted to take the next step in my career and create a space where not only I could thrive but other beauty professionals could too. Undefined Beauty Lounge is a place where I can offer my nail services while also providing a nurturing and professional environment for others. I want to work with beauty professionals who are ambitious and eager to grow their businesses. I’ve always believed that success comes when you have the right support and environment, so I started Undefined Beauty Lounge with that in mind.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Building a business from the ground up requires a lot of discipline, dedication, and hard work. I’m currently a one-woman show, juggling my full-time work as a nail technician (J’Luxe Nail Studio) while also running Undefined Beauty Lounge. Every step of this journey has been self-funded, with no external assistance. I’ve put in countless hours and made a lot of sacrifices to get here. I always tell people, if you’re considering becoming an entrepreneur, be ready for it to be a 24/7 commitment. It’s not easy, but the rewards come from the growth, the independence, and the ability to create something meaningful on your own terms!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full-time Nail Technician and Nail Artist, operating J’luxe Nail Studio within Undefined Beauty Lounge. I specialize in a variety of nail services, including gel manicures, strengthening gel manicures, pedicures, Gel-X, hard gel, and more. My goal is to offer high-quality, long-lasting services that help clients feel confident and pampered!
But what truly sets me apart is the space I’ve created at Undefined Beauty Lounge. It’s not just a beauty suites—it’s a hub for beauty professionals from all different backgrounds. I’m actively looking for hairstylists, tattoo artists, makeup artists, lash technicians, wax experts, and more to join our community! I want Undefined Beauty Lounge to be a one-stop shop where clients can get all of their beauty needs met in one place, while also creating a collaborative environment for beauty professionals to grow their businesses.
What I’m most proud of is the opening of my beauty suites. From the ground up, I fully funded it myself. It’s been a long journey, and I know firsthand how challenging it can be to make a name for yourself and build a loyal clientele. I’ve worked hard to create a space where beauty professionals can thrive, and I’m dedicated to helping the people who rent from me grow their businesses as well. It’s incredibly rewarding to see others succeed and know that I’m part of their journey!
