Rising Stars: Meet Brianna Mccrary of Saint Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Mccrary

Hi Brianna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for fashion design started when I was a kid. I’ve always loved everything about fashion. I enjoyed drawing cute designs and putting together cute outfits to wear to school. I took a sewing class in high school, and that’s where I learned the basics. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit, that I started to invest more time into designing clothes and sewing. I was unable to go to school for fashion design. So, I am very much self taught. Everything I learned along the way is from experimenting, researching, and studying any fashion design related content.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey as a Fashion Designer has been anything but smooth. I am still constantly learning more about who I am as designer. It is hard to balance a fashion brand while also juggling other aspects of life. I do the best I can, and even though it can be challenging at times. As a Fashion Designer, being able to bring my ideas to life. Is something that means the world to me. I am forever grateful for all the opportunities and people I have met along the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My favorite thing about being a Fashion Designer is that I can be creative as possible. I specialize in designing princess dresses and evening gowns. I’ve always loved ball gowns and seeing the big princess dresses in the movies. I enjoy creating dresses that make people feel like a princess or a queen. There’s something so magical about it all. I’m proud of myself for how far I’ve come this year. I’ve learned a lot about myself as a designer. I will continue to grow and push myself to be even better.

How do you define success?
My passion. I am always going to want to achieve the goals I set for myself. But more importantly I want to make sure I am always happy, while reaching them. It’s easy to get caught up in the race to reach accomplishments. I care more about not losing the passion I have more craft, over how many goals I achieved. I define success by how passionate I am about my designs. I will always be successful as long as I never lose what sparks my creativity for fashion design.
