Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Podgornik.

Caitlin Podgornik

Hi Caitlin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The moment I became obsessed with photography was a beautiful summer night in Crete, Greece in 2019. I had just graduated college and decided to go on a solo trip to travel & have my “Momma Mia” moment! Before I left, my sister had given me an old camera to capture my adventure. Little did I know that was going to light a spark in me to discover my passion and dream job. I knew in my bones this is what I was meant to do. Fast forward to now, I am blessed to be working as a full time wedding photographer!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel very lucky with the amazing support system I have with my friends, family, and clients! With that being said, I think any artist or creative starting their own business can relate to the struggles of imposter syndrome or just learning what works best for you and your business. Overall my struggles have been my learning lessons to get where I am today and help me strive to be my best self for my business and most importantly my clients!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a photographer, I specialize in elopement and wedding photography but I love capturing the small and big milestones of life! I love that my job allows me to be apart of so many special moments like; a brother meeting his baby sister for the first time, or helping a small business grow with product photography, or capturing maternity photos for a first time momma! When I am capturing these moments I am focusing on finding the beautifully candid moments along with guiding my clients through the session to create art that feels most authentic to them. My heart and soul goes into each session with the intention of making the experience a safe place for my clients but most importantly, FUN!

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For anyone starting out, I want to say YOU GOT THIS! You might not know everything, and you might question yourself, or others might question you as well, but at the end of the day you have something special to share with the world! So embrace failure as lessons learned, don’t worry about what others are doing or saying and stay true to your passion.
