Today we’d like to introduce you to David Woolridge.
David, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a singer songwriter, I grew up in a family of musicians from Kentucky. My uncles and dad played Bluegrass Gospel music. The played the Bill Monroe circuit for many years. They wrote originals and it was something I always wanted to do myself. I started writing around the age of 18 .
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a lot smoother once I got established in the local scene. It was tough at the beginning because most people want to hear cover songs , but I have been able to weed out most covers. So now I try to just do shows that I want to do , which is singer songwriter shows
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
By profession I was a flooring installer, just retired. As a songwriter I write songs about Faith and relationships with Jesus . I write songs about the real struggles people can go through and how Know Jesus is the real solution. I’ve been through a lot myself and I think people can relate. I am proud that someone might come to Christ from a song I’ve written. Maybe it helps them through a struggle they face ect.. I am not sure anything necessarily sets me apart from anyone else . I’m just a sinner saved by grace trying to get through life
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Don’t Judge just love people and try to be a Blessing every day
