Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Mosely.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in St. Louis, MO, but raised in O’Fallon, IL. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with hopes of becoming a pharmacist. However, after my sophomore year, my plans changed. In 2020, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism with a concentration in Sport Management. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to work in the sports industry and serve as a mentor to youth.
After taking a gap year and working two entry-level jobs, I decided to further my education at Texas A&M University. I took a leap of faith and moved to Houston, TX, to establish residency and receive in-state tuition, easing the financial burden on myself. My passion for content creation grew as I explored the city of Houston, trying new restaurants and leisure activities. Due to unexpected changes, I moved back home and continued to navigate the job market. A year later, I was accepted into Texas A&M University’s Sport Management Distance Education Master’s Program.
During the second year of the program, I moved to College Station, TX, and continued to create content for my TikTok. I later launched my YouTube Channel. After graduating last year, I began searching for full-time employment. Throughout my job search, I also chose to focus on content creation and building a community on my platforms. Since taking my content creator journey seriously, I have collaborated with companies such as Fenty Beauty, Swiffer, and Reach International Outfitters. Through my content, I hope to inspire others to walk by faith, dream big, and enjoy the little things in life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all—but I wouldn’t trade my journey for anything. There have been challenges, detours, and unexpected transitions, from changing my career path in college to moving away from my family and navigating job uncertainty. However, I am incredibly blessed to have an amazing support system. Without God, my family and friends, and my mentor, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
One of the hardest parts was learning to step out of my comfort zone—whether that meant relocating for school, building my confidence to post on social media, or starting a business from scratch.
But each obstacle has helped shape who I am today. I’ve grown stronger in my faith, learned to trust God’s timing, and embraced the beauty in every season—even the hard ones. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been purposeful. Every bump along the way has contributed to my personal growth, professional development, and deepened sense of purpose.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I serve as an academic mentor for student-athletes at Texas A&M University. In this role, I provide personalized academic guidance to 1–3 student-athletes, helping them set and achieve their educational goals throughout the academic year. In addition to mentoring, I am also a faith-based content creator, focused on building and nurturing community across my social media platforms.
I am most proud of myself for never giving up—despite the challenges—and for keeping God at the center of my life. He has gifted me with influence, and I pray that I continue to use that gift to share His word and love, while also encouraging others to embrace and enjoy life.
In February, I launched my wedding and event content creation business, Desired Creations by Desireé. Through this venture, I aim to capture beautiful, raw, and authentic moments that my clients can relive and cherish for years to come.
What were you like growing up?
As a little girl, I spent most of my time at church. If I wasn’t playing sports or spending time with family and friends, I was participating in choir and praise dance rehearsals, vacation Bible school, Sunday school, and more. I’m forever grateful for my parents’ wisdom, guidance, love, and patience.
I was super shy and quiet, but also loving, friendly, and adventurous. I enjoyed reading books, dressing up my Barbie dolls, and playing sports. My family and I are very close—we used to have family gatherings almost every other weekend. You could always find me picture-ready, capturing special moments with family and friends through photos and videos.
My journey is a true testament to God’s grace, mercy, love, and faithfulness. I hope my story encourages others to never give up on their dreams and to remember that every season serves a purpose in your life. Keep going—you’ve got this.
