Today we’d like to introduce you to Liana Valle.
Liana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My STL agency- Images Agency- told us about the Industry Network- a talent showcase in Los Angeles. I really didn’t think I was going to be able to afford to go but nevertheless, I signed up for as much as I could. Singing, acting, and modeling. The money somehow came. I performed 3 original pieces in front of 300 people and about 10 judges, they all reached out to me and wanted to work together. It was a dream come true- I couldn’t have imagined such a great turnout. But I ended up only going with one producer- there were a few along the way that were pretty disappointing. I’m very glad I was steered clear though because my team is absolutely amazing. The studio I recorded in is the same studio that Selena Gomez and Kelly Clarkson record in. This is just the beginning. My debut single Pretty When You Cry came out September 26 and I have more songs in the vault.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, I was broke- going to school to be a doctor and I got into three car accidents before the trip (none of them my fault). I also got sick ON MY WAY to LA in the plane and lost my voice- (I have never lost my voice a DAY in my LIFE).
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer, actress, and model. I specialize in film and commercial print. I am known for hopefully- my kindness. I am most proud of this single. What sets me apart from others is that I don’t use autotune.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking is best in person, if you can. Find agents, but don’t think the work stops there. I’m applying myself to gigs everyday. What has worked well is showing up in person, talking to people, and not being afraid of rejection
