Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Palmer
Hi Ryan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story begins with an unexpected challenge—being diagnosed with retinoblastoma as a child. Surviving eye cancer and retaining my vision shaped the way I see the world, both literally and creatively. This experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for art, design, and the power of visuals to tell stories that resonate on a meaningful level.
Though I majored in Industrial Management and Applied Engineering, my true passion has always been entrepreneurship and creativity. While engineering gave me a solid foundation in problem-solving and precision, I knew that it wouldn’t allow me to achieve my goals of building something impactful and creative. That realization led me to transition into advertising and marketing, where I could combine my interests in consumer psychology, branding, and storytelling—all with the goal of helping businesses grow.
At the core of my work is my passion for storytelling. I believe every business has a unique story to tell, and this belief shapes the way I approach copywriting at Palmer Creative Co.. Whether I’m crafting email campaigns, developing web content, or designing brand assets, my focus is on creating narratives that connect emotionally with audiences and inspire action. I’ve had the opportunity to apply these skills across a wide range of industries, starting off in Southern Illinois and its surrounding areas, and now working with clients nationwide to build brands that stand out.
In addition to my work in marketing, I’m deeply passionate about music production, with a long-term goal of launching a record label. This label will not only focus on producing great music but will also offer music marketing services tailored specifically for musicians and artists. By combining my marketing expertise with my love for music, I aim to help artists grow their personal brands, reach their audience, and build sustainable careers in the industry.
Palmer Creative Co. was founded out of a desire to bring creative solutions to businesses, with a focus on impactful storytelling, strategic design, and helping brands thrive. Whether it’s through email copywriting, graphic design, or web development, my mission is to help clients across all industries tell their story in the most compelling way possible.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth. Honestly, most people think I’m crazy for switching from engineering to marketing—and I kind of agree with them! But life’s too short not to follow what makes you excited. I’ve faced doubts, both from others and myself, but I’ve never regretted the choice. I believe it’s worth spending your time doing something you love, even if the path isn’t conventional.

I specialize in email copywriting, graphic design, and web development, but what really sets me apart is my love for guerrilla and unconventional marketing tactics. I’m all about creative, outside-the-box strategies that catch people’s attention in unexpected ways. I’ve built Palmer Creative Co. to bring these bold ideas to life, helping brands stand out in a crowded market. Whether it’s through storytelling or unique marketing approaches, I’m always looking for fresh ways to make an impact.
How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t about traditional benchmarks like money or titles. It’s about doing what lights you up and staying true to what you want to build, whether it’s in business or life. I’ve taken risks, like leaving a stable career in engineering, to follow my creative passions—and that’s what defines success for me: taking chances, staying excited, and creating something meaningful along the way. If I’m doing work I love and helping others while pursuing my bigger dreams, then I consider that success.
