Today we’d like to introduce you to Shamika.
Hi Shamika , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is layered — filled with both unimaginable pain and undeniable purpose. I’m a wife, mother of three (two biological and one bonus son), and the founder of IIXIV ELEVATION — a lifestyle movement rooted in the belief that trauma doesn’t disqualify you, it prepares you for legacy. But before this became my mission, I was simply trying to survive seasons I never imagined I’d face.
In 2018, my life took a sharp turn when my daughter and I were hit by a school bus. The accident left me with multiple fractures and my daughter diagnosed as a quadriplegic, ventilator-dependent 24/7. That moment forced me into a life of full-time caregiving, grief, and ultimately, spiritual rebirth. While learning how to walk again physically, I also had to learn how to stand emotionally and spiritually. I became her advocate, her nurse, her biggest cheerleader — and through that, I realized God was training me in endurance, empathy, and identity.
Years later, I gave birth to my son Legacy at 24 weeks. He weighed just 1 lb 8 oz and spent over 3 months in the NICU. At the same time, I was rebuilding my marriage, rediscovering my voice, and learning how to process trauma in a way that wouldn’t silence me anymore. I knew I wasn’t just called to go through it — I was called to grow through it and help others do the same.
That’s how IIXIV ELEVATION was born. It started as a life coaching vision in 2021 and evolved into a content-driven lifestyle brand overtime — where faith, motherhood, identity, and healing intersect. I use storytelling, videos, and daily reflections to remind others that they’re not alone and that their story still has power. Whether I’m encouraging a mom caring for a medically fragile child, mentoring a woman battling rejection, or just showing up online with joy after a heavy day, I’ve learned that purpose isn’t performance — it’s obedience.
Today, I’m walking fully in my calling as a woman of God, a prophetic voice, and a Kingdom builder. IIXIV ELEVATION is just the beginning — and I believe every trial I’ve faced was heaven’s way of saying: You still have something to give.
And I do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all — the road has been anything but smooth. It’s been full of detours, breakdowns, and moments where I truly didn’t know how I’d keep going. I’ve walked through childhood trauma that shaped how I viewed love, safety, and self-worth. I grew up battling identity issues — never really feeling like I belonged, often misunderstood, and constantly trying to prove my value just to feel seen. That internal fight followed me into adulthood, motherhood, and even ministry.
Then came the external battles. In 2018, my daughter and I were in a devastating car accident that left her paralyzed and dependent on a ventilator. I had to relearn how to walk while learning how to advocate for her medically, emotionally, and spiritually — all while silently wrestling with grief and guilt. That season broke me in ways I didn’t know were possible, but it also awakened something in me: a deeper dependence on God.
I’ve since navigated pregnancy losses, financial instability, and spiritual warfare in my marriage and family. There were days I showed up on the outside, but I was drowning internally — overwhelmed by depression, anxiety, and unhealed sorrow. I often felt invisible, especially as a stay-at-home wife and mother, silently asking: “Who sees me while I’m carrying everyone else?”
But every struggle became a place of revelation. God used what tried to destroy me to build something deeper in me. The pain taught me to stop living for people’s validation and start standing in the truth of who God says I am. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been necessary — and it’s made me more compassionate, more grounded, and more purposeful than I’ve ever been.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My story is one of pain turned purpose—of trauma, identity loss, and restoration. I’m a wife, mother, faith-led creative, and founder of IIXIV ELEVATION, a lifestyle brand and movement that was birthed out of seasons of grief, hardship, and deep spiritual awakening.
My journey didn’t begin with strategy—it began with survival. From navigating childhood trauma, abandonment, and emotional abuse, to becoming a teen mom, walking through a traumatic car accident that left my daughter quadriplegic, enduring toxic family dynamics, and facing financial uncertainty while trying to rebuild my life—I’ve experienced storm after storm. On top of that, I wrestled with identity, people-pleasing, and constantly feeling misunderstood.
But even in the chaos, God never let me go.
Through it all, I kept showing up—for my children, my husband, my healing, and my calling. I started IIXIV ELEVATION as a sacred space where faith and real-life collide—where people can be raw, honest, and still rise. I create content rooted in transparency, encouragement, spiritual wisdom, and emotional healing. I use my voice and testimony to help others find theirs.
I specialize in prophetic storytelling, lifestyle encouragement, and helping people connect their pain to purpose. I’m known for being deeply honest, faith-filled, and real—unafraid to talk about the dark places because I know they lead to light. I speak to those who feel forgotten, stuck, or unsure if God can still use them. I remind them that not only is there still hope, but there is legacy in their story.
What I’m most proud of is that I never gave up—even when I had every reason to. I’ve allowed God to shape me publicly and privately, and I continue to walk by faith, even when I can’t see what’s next.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just talk about healing—I live it. I don’t just build a brand—I live a life of ministry. Every post, every video, every message is rooted in my lived experience and guided by God’s voice. I don’t do it for applause—I do it because I know what it feels like to suffer in silence, and I’m called to be a voice for the ones still finding theirs.
IIXIV ELEVATION isn’t just a brand—it’s my obedience. It’s my offering back to God for all He’s brought me through.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for anyone just starting out—whether it’s in business, healing, purpose, or life—is this: Don’t rush the process, but honor it.
You won’t always feel ready. You won’t always have clarity. Sometimes, all you’ll have is a whisper from God and a heavy heart—but start anyway. Move with the little faith you do have. Don’t wait until everything is perfect or people approve. Obedience doesn’t require popularity—it just requires your yes.
I wish I knew earlier that you don’t need to have it all figured out to be effective. God does some of His greatest work in the midst of your confusion, your mess, and your inexperience. I also wish I understood that being called doesn’t mean you won’t face crushing. The oil flows through the breaking.
So give yourself grace. Be real about your emotions. Don’t hide behind filters, trends, or what everyone else is doing. Stay rooted in your why. And let God write the rest.
Your pace is not behind. You’re not too late. You’re not too broken.
You’re becoming—and that is holy ground.
