Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Adams-Turnipseed.
Hi Tina , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story is one of perseverance, purpose, and service. I often tell people that my journey has never been a straight line, but every challenge, opportunity, and lesson has helped shape who I am today.
Professionally, I serve as the MIS Coordinator and Systems Administrator for the Riverview Gardens School District, where I oversee student information systems, data management, state reporting, technology initiatives, and operational processes that support thousands of students and staff. Over the years, I have built a reputation for solving complex problems, leading large-scale projects, and ensuring that systems and people work together effectively. They call me the Olivia Pope of the District . “Call Dr. Tina like Olivia Pope, It’s handled.
However, my journey extends far beyond my career in education. I am also an entrepreneur, event producer, private chef, business leader, mentor, and community advocate. Through my company, TSEED Executive Productions & Extravagant Events, I have had the opportunity to create memorable experiences, manage large-scale events, and help clients bring their visions to life. I have also dedicated much of my time to supporting women, youth, and aspiring entrepreneurs through mentoring, leadership development, and community programs.
One of the defining aspects of my journey has been learning how to turn obstacles into opportunities. I have faced personal and professional challenges, including significant health battles, but those experiences strengthened my faith, resilience, and determination. Rather than allowing circumstances to define me, I chose to let them refine me.
Today, I am honored to be recognized as a business leader, educator, community advocate, and recipient of several awards. Yet, what I am most proud of is the impact I’ve had on people. Whether I am helping a student, mentoring a young entrepreneur, supporting a family, planning a life-changing event, or leading a team through a major transition, my goal has always been the same: to leave things better than I found them.
My journey continues to evolve, but at its core, it has always been about using my gifts, experiences, and leadership to create opportunities for others and make a meaningful difference in the communities I serve.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road, but I believe the challenges have played a major role in shaping the person and servant leader I am today.
Like many entrepreneurs and professionals, I have faced setbacks, disappointments, and moments when I had to figure things out with very limited resources. Building a career while simultaneously building businesses, serving my community, and supporting my family required countless sacrifices. There were times when I worked long hours, wore multiple hats, and had to push through exhaustion to accomplish my goals.
One of my greatest challenges has been my health. I have faced multiple serious medical battles that forced me to slow down, reevaluate priorities, and rely on my faith in ways I never had before. There were moments when I could have allowed those circumstances to define me, but instead, they taught me resilience, gratitude, and the importance of perseverance. Those experiences reminded me that strength is not about never falling; it is about getting back up every time life knocks you down.
Professionally, I have also navigated major organizational changes, complex technology implementations, and situations where I had to lead through uncertainty. Being a woman in leadership and entrepreneurship has sometimes meant having to work twice as hard to prove my capabilities. There have been moments when people underestimated me, questioned my vision, or didn’t see the value of what I was building. Rather than allowing that to discourage me, I used it as motivation to keep moving forward.
I have learned that success is rarely about having a perfect journey. It is about being willing to keep going when things get difficult. Every obstacle taught me something valuable, whether it was patience, adaptability, leadership, or faith.
Looking back, I would not change the struggles because they helped develop the resilience, compassion, and determination that I bring to everything I do today. The road has not been easy, but it has absolutely been worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
wear many hats, but at the core of everything I do is a passion for serving people, solving problems, and creating opportunities.
Professionally, I serve as the MIS Coordinator and Systems Administrator for the Riverview Gardens School District, overseeing student information systems, data management, state reporting, technology implementation, and operational processes that support student success. I specialize in taking complex systems and making them work efficiently for the people who depend on them. Whether it’s leading a district-wide software migration, managing critical data, or training staff, I am known for finding solutions and getting things done.
Outside of education, I am the owner of TSEED Executive Productions & Extravagant Events, Chez TSEED by Tseed Kitchen where I specialize in Romatic Rendevous, luxury event planning, event production, and creating unforgettable experiences. I have planned everything from corporate functions and community events to milestone celebrations and fundraising galas. I am also a private chef, business consultant, mentor, and community advocate dedicated to helping others succeed.
What I am most proud of is not any single award or title, it is the impact I have had on people. I am proud of the students I have helped, the businesses I have mentored, the women and youth I have empowered, the events that have brought communities together, and the teams I have helped lead through change and growth.
I believe what sets me apart is my ability to bridge multiple worlds successfully. It is not often that you find someone who can lead a complex technology initiative during the day, coordinate an elegant event in the evening, mentor young entrepreneurs on the weekend, and still find time to serve the community. I bring both analytical thinking and creative vision to everything I do.
I am also known for my resilience. Throughout my career and personal life, I have faced challenges that could have easily discouraged me. Instead, I have used those experiences to strengthen my faith, deepen my compassion, and sharpen my leadership skills. People often tell me that I have a unique ability to remain calm under pressure, find solutions when others see obstacles, and inspire people to believe in what is possible.
At the end of the day, my greatest accomplishment is not what I have achieved for myself, but the lives I have touched along the way. If people remember me as someone who made a difference, opened doors for others, and left every situation better than she found it, then I consider that a success.
What sets me apart in both event planning and mentoring is that I do not focus solely on the event or the individual. I focus on the experience, the impact, and the legacy.
As an event planner, I don’t just decorate rooms or coordinate timelines. I create experiences that tell stories and leave lasting impressions. Anyone can organize an event, but I take the time to understand the purpose behind it. Whether I am planning a milestone celebration, fundraiser, wedding, corporate event, or community gathering, I want guests to feel something when they walk into the room. Every detail has meaning, from the design and atmosphere to the guest experience and final takeaway. My clients know that when they trust me with their vision, I treat it as if it were my own.
What also sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with logistics. I have a strong operational and technology background, which allows me to manage budgets, timelines, vendor relationships, contracts, and execution with precision while still creating beautiful, memorable experiences. I am equally comfortable reviewing spreadsheets as I am selecting décor and designing an event concept.
As a mentor, I believe in empowering people, not creating dependency. My goal is not to tell people what to do; it is to help them discover what they are capable of becoming. I invest in the whole person. I help people build confidence, identify opportunities, overcome obstacles, and develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals. I am known for being honest, encouraging, and willing to open doors for others whenever possible.
Many mentors provide advice. I provide access, accountability, encouragement, and real-world experience. I don’t just inspire people to dream bigger. I help them develop a plan to make those dreams a reality.
Most importantly, I genuinely care about people. Whether I am planning an event for 500 guests or mentoring one young entrepreneur, I want every person I encounter to leave feeling valued, empowered, and better than they were before we met.
At the end of the day, my greatest success is not measured by the events I produce or the awards I receive. It is measured by the lives I impact, the opportunities I create, and the memories that continue long after the event is over.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Absolutely. If there is one thing I would like readers to take away from my story, it is that your circumstances do not determine your destiny.
Many people see the accomplishments, awards, titles, and businesses, but what they don’t always see are the challenges, sacrifices, setbacks, and moments of uncertainty that happened behind the scenes. Every success story has chapters that are difficult to read while you’re living them. The key is to keep moving forward, even when the path is unclear.
I want people, especially women, entrepreneurs, and young people, to understand that it is never too late to pursue your purpose. You do not have to fit into a single box. You can be a professional, a business owner, a mentor, a creative, a community advocate, and still continue to evolve. We should never allow others to define our limits.
I am also passionate about lifting as I climb. Success means very little if we are not helping someone else along the way. Throughout my journey, I have been blessed by mentors, supporters, family members, and friends who believed in me. Because of that, I feel a responsibility to open doors, share knowledge, and create opportunities for others.
As I continue this journey, my goal is simple: to leave a legacy of service, excellence, empowerment, and impact. I want to be remembered not only for what I accomplished, but for the lives I touched, the opportunities I created, and the difference I made in my community.
I often live by the belief that your gift will make room for you. When you walk in your purpose, remain faithful, work hard, and serve others with a genuine heart, amazing things can happen. we also must be the change we want to see in the world
My final message to readers is this: Dream boldly, lead courageously, serve generously, and never stop becoming the person God created you to be.
