We recently had the chance to connect with Ryan Himmel and have shared our conversation below.
Ryan, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 min of my day are very intentional. I start off by being still and spending time with God. I read my Bible first and foremost, then pick up a personal development book. I wrap it up with a quick workout to get my body moving and my energy up.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! My name is Ryan Himmel and I’m an emcee, entertainer, Juggler and DJ. What I do is more than just play music or grab a mic – I create unforgettable experiences. From the block party to the stadium my goal is to bring the right energy, connect with the crowd, and make sure every event becomes a memory people talk about long after it’s over.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship with my wife really helped shaped how I see myself. Showing both my strengths and the areas I need to grow in. Having her in my corner has stretched me to be more disciplined, more intentional, and more grounded constantly reminding me that success isn’t what I achieve out in the world but who I am at home. She’s helped me become a better man, father, and leader.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failing held me back because I was more focused on what people might think if I messed up than on what could happen if I actually succeeded. I let the possibility of falling short stop me from even trying, and that kept me stuck. Once I embraced failing as a part of the process, I was really able to sky rocket my business and go to new levels.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
YES! the public version and the private version are one in the same. No mask, no act, just me being me.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope that people remember I did everything in excellence and I didn’t let emotions get in the way of my decision making. I hope they look back and remember how authentic it was.
