Anna Carwile shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Anna, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Putting together our new build house- our IKEA closet, decorating and organizing the kitchen have been my latest projects.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a full time hospital pharmacist and a mom but in my “free time” I love trying new restaurants around the St. Louis area. My kids and I also love exploring the city and finding fun family activities. I also work on my website annacarwile.com and add to my travel blog and itineraries.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mom is one of the hardest working people I know and she taught me to have a great work ethic. I worked for her business growing up and she showed me that women can be strong business owners and make their own way in the world.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I think the fear of being judged held me back from posting on social media at first but I’ve definitely gotten over that. I post all kinds of goofy and “cringey” videos now. I do wish I would’ve started on my blogging and social media journey earlier because I would be further along than I am now.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Honestly some of the other foodies that I’ve met who have pretty big followings but are still just the nicest people. Mary from maryeatsstl, Whitney from whitneyinthecity and Braden from bradenstl are some examples. They truly want to lift up St. Louis small businesses and are kind to everyone.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel the most at peace when I’m drinking my coffee and cuddling my kids in the morning. They brighten my day every day and make it better.
