We recently had the chance to connect with Brande Michelle and have shared our conversation below.

We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Discipline — training my mind and body to regulate my emotions which has enabled me to make better decisions . It has increased my focus and being more intentional.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello everyone I am Brande Michelle the proud founder of an online luxury perfume boutique Scents for Less by Brande. We make access to authentic designer and niche perfume affordable and convenient. What started in the early 2000’s when my mom the original perfume lady that sold perfume out the trunk of her car in my community until her passing in 2013, has now flourished with the help of God to an online boutique, products on a shelf at Sugaz Boutique in Hazelwood MO, An IOS apple app, and multiple opportunities to be a vendor and even host my first Sniff and Spray event. We understand the importance of offering personalized service. We are actively pursuing new opportunities in the podcast forum on Unheard TV, contracting. and placing our products in more stores.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I would have to say putting others happiness before my own. I don’t like conflict so often I would be more inclined to try to fix things that I didn’t break. Now I understand the power of saying no wish them well and moving on gracefully. I am no longer a people pleaser. It is so liberating.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The biggest fear that has held me back is the fear of being successful. I am a behind the scenes kinda girl I love serving. Often times serving is looked down on by many. I don’t like talking about myself. Even this interview I had some anxiety but I am pushing through in hopes that it will encourage someone else to stop being fearful and walk in your Purpose. Success will come you don’t have to fear it or chase it. I’ve embraced a mindset of saying yes more, staying consistent, and continuing to learn.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my longtime friend, cousin, and former colleague Barbara Clark. First and foremost she has been married to the love of her life Gilbert Clark well over 40 years . She is a wonderful mother and doting grandmother to her 2 grandsons. She displays authenticity, integrity, kindness, resilience, humility, generosity, honesty, empathy, and trustworthiness. She is the true epitome of the virtuous woman in the Bible. She has never wavered on anything. I am striving I am not there yet!
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I am building a legacy by cultivating my professional relationships. Learning from my failures and supporting on going development. Building a consistent brand identity. Utilizing technology by investing more in (digital)marketing. Streamline operations and build a strong team by empowering them. Continuing to serve by providing stellar customer service which always pays off.
