We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jaymi Davis. Check out our conversation below.
Jaymi, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to take a stand for what is right. I have struggled and been afraid to speak up for the things that I need to speak up for. I have sat and watched things happen knowing it was wrong, but too afraid to bring justice and order. I won’t say that I don’t have fear, but the fear is no longer greater than my courage.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Jaymi Elaine Davis is a visionary leader, licensed therapist, author, and speaker whose passion lies in helping people, especially women and youth, discover healing, purpose, and wholeness. With a background that bridges education, counseling, and ministry, she is gifted at seeing the gaps in systems and building strategies that transform environments. Whether as Dean of Student Experience at Rosati-Kain Academy or as the founder of multiple ventures, Jaymi has a proven ability to create structures that empower people to thrive, both individually and collectively.
Through her umbrella of brands, Refining Place Coaching and Rose of Sharon, Jaymi creates spaces where people can breathe, heal, and rebuild. Each brand reflects a facet of her calling: coaching individuals toward mindset shifts, guiding women through restoration, mentoring young girls, and cultivating safe communities of growth. At the heart of it all, her mission is to extend God’s heart to people, helping them embrace their identity, overcome barriers, and step fully into their divine purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I sat with this question for a while. My whole story is one of a woman becoming God’s original intent for her life. To become his original intent I have to go back and answer this question. I was creative, expressive, bold, wise, confident, and beautiful. I use each of these words intentionally because those are the areas of my life I found myself questioning the most. The world around me muted me and watered down the fire I had. It made me go from a confident little girl who felt she could do anything to a scared teen and a broken woman. I felt I had to conform to the vision of others in order to be accepted. It took me a long time to realize I had been buried under an identity that was never created for me. I have been on a mission to get back to that girl while also discovering new parts of her.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one nice thing to my younger self it would be thank you. I would acknowledge her strength and resilience to push past everything she was facing and tell her thank you. It was her hope and faith that has gotten us to where we are today.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say integrity, justice, and healing matters to me the most. I am very passionate about these things. Sometimes they have to tell me they don’t want the therapist side of me for certain conversations. It is so easy for me to lean into finding solutions that bring healing that I sometimes have to step back and just be a listener.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people would say she lived a life that represented Christ. She was a visionary and carried grace, elegance and wisdom wrapped in meekness. I hope they tell a story of how their life was changed because of the hope I gave in how I lived or the words I spoke.
