Story & Lesson Highlights with Kid Da Vine of Wright City

Kid Da Vine shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Kid, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Personally one of the things I’ve being called to do is being more active on my philosophy side of life! I love exploring that! I have done a lot of mental work to be a person who is open to all concepts, so now after making a new instagram specifically for philosophy and extra topics, then I want to start sharing more of my views on life in general instead of just music.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
So I go by Kid Da Vine (Think like Leonardo Da Vinci) and I am a visionary, artist, musician, entrepreneur and a philosopher! THAT is my brand. I do things that fulfill my life no matter how contradictory it is to other things I do. I am a go getter who is constantly willing to dive head first into anything and I constantly go outside of my comfort zone because that’s how you grow! I’m currently in the process of re-launching my brand after some personal situations but rest assured the butterfly that is coming out of the cocoon will be a force on all platforms. An ace of all trades… Master of all!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my wife shaped how I see myself the most honestly! I used to be scared of thinking differently than others and suppressed some of my deepest differences between others in fear of being judged, but my wife Kieatte (also a musical artist, check her out on all platforms) she saw me for who I am and allowed me a safe space to be who I truly am deep down. The exact conversation we had about that has changed the very foundation of the Kid Da Vine you all see, but most importantly the Joshua Woods that the mass populace doesn’t see. So I love and value that conversation along with my relationship with her. FOREVER!

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Honestly I have 2 huge wounds I had to heal that have pushed me the most in life. First, was realizing that my early relationship with my family could no longer be maintained as is. Basically I grew up in a VERY Christian household and by 19 I realized that path was not for me. My relationship with my family is amazing now regardless, but it took healing from a huge rough patch with them after admitting I didn’t want that type of life. The 2nd wound was mentally reasoning with death and my past bad decisions during that rough patch. Long story short, I have gone through so many “bad” things and made so many “bad” decisions that I could write a novel on just that. It hit a crescendo that ended with me being in a coma due to those “bad” decisions. THAT changed my life so fundamentally in a positive way that now I am happy about everything I’ve gone through because it propelled me to take control of my life and be happy in every position of my existence!!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Omnilessism!! My own self created structure of finding your own beliefs and not being force to adhere to the ones that already exist. I believe everyone is an Omnilessist at heart, because everything and nothing is simultaneously true. So YOUR path can be anything YOU choose it to be. Whether that is Christian, Jewish, Agnostic, Atheist, OR none of those and some self created religion/lack there of. All of it is correct, so I am passionate in helping people find what they truly believe and not feel trapped in beliefs/religions like I was just because of the status quo!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If immortality were real, what would you build?
MAN! Now that is a crazy question. Personally I believe things like that is possible and I frequently think about that question, so I’ll answer it like this… I would look to build peace and unity between all people, along with a safe space for everyone to practice their beliefs and life! I would build a huge family (not just by blood) and potentially some device that gives immortality for free to others, so we can explore the mysteries that f this universe and the next!
