Story & Lesson Highlights with Lyndsey Ellis of North St. Louis County

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Lyndsey Ellis. Check out our conversation below.

Lyndsey , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
This evening, at my weekly Zumba class. I love how music and dance gives me space to get out of my head, as well as remain active in a healthy way. Being in sync with strangers, if just for one hour, is a gift – especially in this socially troubled climate we live in.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a writer, teaching artist and founder of Show-Me Stories, LLC., a literary consulting resource that helps new creative writers develop their ideas into full projects through proofreading, manuscript evaluations and coaching services. Years of crafting stories while navigating the ever-evolving publishing world helped me understand the intrinsic value of creative development for other aspiring writers. I enjoy working with tomorrow’s storytellers, helping them fine-tune their writing and create a clear roadmap to publication.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
An introvert who enjoyed her own company and the fruits of her imagination.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Patience. A whole lot of it.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
It took years to confidently answer ‘yes’ to this question.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
In the mornings when I walk my dog and then, write while I drink good coffee.
