We recently had the chance to connect with Malaina Miller and have shared our conversation below.
Malaina, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I am chasing a better life for my children, my loved ones, and myself! I feel like I’m so close to giving them the life they deserve. If I stop, I feel like I’ll be letting myself down. Why give up today when your life can change tomorrow?
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Of course! I’m Malaina Miller, CEO of The Luscious Life, a self-care and wellness brand that blends beauty, mental health, and a little baddie energy. I’m also a single mother of two daughters, so balance and resilience are at the core of everything I do. What makes my brand unique is it’s not just about looking good, it’s about feeling good and reclaiming joy. Right now, I’m expanding my wellness products and digital projects to keep self-care real, fun, and accessible.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I used to think I had to shrink to make other people comfortable, quieter, smaller, less ambitious. Now I know the opposite: my voice, my hustle, and my self-care are the gifts I give my daughters. I don’t apologize for taking up space.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were plenty of moments I almost gave up. Trying to balance motherhood while keeping the lights on and chasing a dream wasn’t easy. I’ve been through seasons where the money wasn’t adding up, the bills were heavy, and the pressure felt unbearable. But every time I looked at my daughters, I knew quitting wasn’t an option at all! They’re my why, the reason I push through the struggle and keep building something bigger than me.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would say what matters most to me are my daughters, my family, and the people I love. They know I’m big on protecting my peace, keeping my mental health strong, and showing up for the ones who show up for me. To me, it’s all about loyalty, love, and building something solid that my girls, friends, and family can be proud of.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Honestly, I catch myself worrying about things God has already worked out. But beyond that, I’m putting in the daily grind, building The Luscious Life, raising my daughters, and making sacrifices that won’t show their full payoff for 7–10 years. It’s about legacy, faith, and trusting the process.
