Nick Smith shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Nick, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m really after freedom – freedom from my own thoughts, financial stress, and living life on autopilot you knows? If I can tap into what makes me unique and turn it into something special, I know it’ll resonate with others who feel the same. I can’t even imagine stopping because it’s so much bigger than just me. I’d not only be letting myself down, but God & everyone else who needs a light in this world like mine.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
What’s good everyone, I’m Nick aka 2Tr1ll, an aspiring music artist looking to make a difference in the world, one song at a time. I grew up in North County St. Louis, I make real raw, authentic, love filled music that I truly believe in and enjoy the process of creating. I have two songs officially released now, but many more new & improved songs on the way soon!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Who was I before the world defined me? A soul that saw love and kindness in everyone and everything. The world screams self-interest, but I believe in the beauty of compassion and connection.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering revealed the beauty of having a strong bond with God and self-empowerment. Having faith in your journey and abilities can take you far, regardless of circumstances.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I really think world peace is possible if we get the right people in charge. It’s not gonna happen tomorrow, but we’re making it way harder on ourselves by not trying new ways to bring our communities, & cultures together.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I think about this question a lot honestly & I’m still trying to find the answer, but if I can make people feel seen, heard & loved, that’s all the satisfaction I need!
