Timothy Lytle of Farmington, MO on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Timothy Lytle shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Timothy, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: When was the last time you felt true joy?
My daughter was born November 14th 2023. That was the morning I felt Truee joy. She is definitely someone I wake up for and give my all everyday. I have a little person that depends on me. So making a living and creating a future for her is mandatory. There is no losing, only winning and figuring out whats next everyday.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Timothy Lytle owner of TNT & Co. Moving Services LLC. We are a team of experienced professionals who take the stress out of moving. Our specialty is treating items and customers the way they should be treated. As a person, we grow in our lifetime trying to figure out what we were made to do in this world. Coming from a long line of family who have owned a historical bar, an eclectic restaurant, and a tire shop in the city. It was like, I was born to lead. But my life hasn’t always felt that way. Forever my dream was not to work for anyone else. Creating something that I could call my own and run the way I wanted. My calling came from starting at the bottom in a local furniture store. Working daily trying to get noticed, become dependable, and be the best I could be in my position. After 5 years, customers commented on my work ethic and asked me to help them with moving items on the side. From then on, my phone never stopped ringing to help other move. I continued to work in the furniture store until I maxed out my pay rate and moving exceeded my daily job there. That was the point of continuing what I was born to do. Take care of customers and grow my own moving business.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My warehouse manager, Justin Hinkle, took the chance on me when I first walked in the building to apply. Through out my time working for him, he showed me just about everything I needed to know about delivering furniture and customer service. He taught me that my integrity meant alot to those I provided my services too. So I ran with it. Made sure that everything I did was the best I could possibly provide. And it just grew more and more with what TNT provides today.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Of course there have been times where I thought, this may not be the thing for me. But it was only a split second. Cause the phone would ring non-stop asking for the services we do best. Knowing that people not only from my area but surrounding towns, cities, and states ask specifically for our services. It brings joy to know my team is one of the best in the area. Business has been growing continuously. And we seem to bring in more customers and businesses that put trust in the TNT name.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
What matters to me most is treating my moving partners the way I would want to be treated if I were working for them. Its important to lead by example in my business. I work along side of my partners in lifting, moving, organizing, and customer service. So making sure we are at our best when moving, is crucial to our standards.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
I don’t know if my knees or feet would withstand tap dancing at work. But I do get excited about some of the things we do daily. Most know me on the furniture docks of my past job with singing in the trucks when loading. When you hear the beautiful sounds of my magical words, you know the day is going to be a good day. As the main packer for the team, I sing old school tunes to make the time go by and relate them to what we are doing at the moment or what someone has said. Some look at me weird, some customers look at it as fun. I look at it as I’m proud of how far we have come. My movers work hard. I feel they are the best in the business. And my happiness expresses that when I sing.
